Names of War Victims

About This Memorial

Our Mission

The Names of War Victims is a non-partisan project that attempts to record the names and basic information of individuals who have lost their lives in military conflicts. We believe that every person — regardless of nationality, allegiance, or circumstances — deserves to be remembered.

This site takes no political stance on any conflict. It does not assign blame or make judgments. It exists solely as a place of remembrance for the human cost of war.

Methodology

Victim records are compiled from publicly available sources including government reports, international organizations (UN OCHA, ICRC), verified news outlets, memorial databases, and press freedom organizations (CPJ, RSF). Each entry is cross-referenced where possible, but we rely on the accuracy of the original sources.

Names may be transliterated differently across sources. Ages, dates, locations, and identity classifications (civilian/military) are recorded as reported by the original source and may contain inaccuracies.

Data Disclaimer

We cannot guarantee that these records are 100% complete or accurate. Armed conflicts produce chaotic conditions where documentation is inherently difficult. Many victims are never officially recorded. Identities may be uncertain, and details may conflict across sources.

This memorial is our best effort to honor the dead with the information available to us. It is a living document — we continually update and correct records as better information becomes available. If you find an error or know of someone who should be included, please submit a report.
